Getting the boot

on 24 Jun 2008 12:35

Well…they're chaptering me. A lot of really shady shit is going down. I'm doing what I can to protect myself, but they've got rank against my rights…and that means the balance isn't in my favor.

New Laptop Pains

on 31 Oct 2007 02:04

Well, I just got that new laptop I ordered in today…and I've spent all day downloading programs and installing games and testing them out here and there…And here are my observations so far:

I don't like the touchpad…the keys are way too stiff. It takes a lot more effort to push them then it should. Furthermore, I can't find the option to disable the tap-to-click that the touchpad has, even though I know it's got to be there somewhere. Unlike most touchpads that are installed as such, this one seems to be installed as a generic mouse, which makes it more of a pain.

Some of the accessories are difficult to turn on…for example, the Wireless adapter and the Bluetooth adapter share the same on/off button…first time you press the button, it turns the wifi on, second time it turns off the wifi and turns on the bluetooth, third time it turns them both on, fourth time it turns them all off again…problem is it will reset the devices each time you press the button, regardless…and to hell with that download you were doing on your wifi.

The Home/End keys are function keys…you have to press two keys in order to use them. I have a feeling that it's going to be really annoying to me.

Other then that, it's passed my personal benchmark with flying colors. I played some of the offline training missions on America's Army and had 90+ FPS the whole time…that's better then my desktop used to fair (around 80 FPS). I'm quite excited, now just need to find a few more programs and tweak the laptop to my tastes…

Well, my personal laptop's wireless card decided to break, and then the harddrive corrupted the system files and I lost my user account restoring it…so I decided to just go and buy another laptop. Internal Wireless Network Adapter (INTEL Wireless-N WiFi Link 4965AGN(802.11a/b/g/Draft N, 11/54/300 Mbps) PCI-E Mini Card)

This one should give my gaming desktop a challenge.

Site News Thingie

on 18 Oct 2007 19:11

I'm currently working on figuring out a way to let me make site-news on the wiki through a forum-based system. This will probably be the way I blog as well…it will allow commenting and such. Should be a good addition to the site, if I can get it to work. If you're reading this, chances are it does.
